SPC Family

Born from a European tender requesting a 9mm carbine with the same handling characteristics and ergonomics as the AR platform; the all-new SPC9 incorporates many of the features found on the B&T APC9, MP5 and AR platforms combined into one, very versatile platform. Lightweight and reliable, well balanced and accurate, safe and modular — the SPC9 checks all the boxes and is one of the lightest recoiling 9mm carbines available, thanks to B&T’s innovative and effective hydraulic buffer system.
Features:
Classic AR Pattern Controls
Interchangeable non-serialized lower receivers
Hydraulic buffer system
A true hybrid:
SPC9 Carbine / PCC
The SPC9 is a new 9mm carbine that incorporates many of the features found on the B&T APC9, MP5 and common AR platforms of weapons. It provides excellent handling, accuracy, safety, and a very low recoil impulse thanks to the innovative hydraulic buffer.

The most innovative aspect of this product is that it can be modified by the user to accept any Glock 9mm magazine. This provides flexibility, cost saving and inter-operability between team members.

Hybrid design
The SPC9 line of weapons is a hybrid and truly customer demanded design. It has also called in rather endearing terms as the “Frankengun”. This is because it has incorporated many different features that are found on various weapon systems developed from around the world.

A Police agency in Europe required a 9mm carbine with the same handling features and ergonomics as the AR platform. The reason for this was twofold, one was the cost-saving of the 9mm round over that of the .300 AAC round and the 5.56 round. The second was that the bullet trap in the existing shooting range was not rated for rifle ammunition and could only withstand pistol ammunition. The solution was a 9mm training option.

Also included: B&T’s unique Hydraulic Buffer

3-lug barrel attachment
Some of these features found on the SPC9 are time-proven while others are state-of-the-art and modern. It is a rather interesting communion of different designs and philosophies. For example, the 3-lug barrel attachment feature is exactly like that is found on the most popular SMG in the world. B&T has been producing suppressors for these weapons for almost thirty years and believe it is the best 9mm SMG suppressor mounting system available.

Two different charging handle systems
Another unusual feature of this weapon is that it sports two different charging handle systems. One of these is the classic handle found on AR platforms while the other is a non-reciprocating, foldable charging handle above the barrel. This gives the operator the choice to use whatever manual of arms that is preferred. Both of these systems are ambidextrous for obvious reasons but the most significant reason is that the designer of the weapon is a left-handed shooter and is quite sensitive to such things.

Stock and handgrip
The telescopic stock and handgrip of the weapon have been inspired by the classic AR platform. The stock has six positions but is also replaceable to any other AR type stock on the markets if the operator should so desire. The same goes for the pistol-grip. The weapon is delivered with a B&T produced pistol-grip but is replaceable by the operator to any other type of after-market product found. This includes Magpul, BCM or any other OEM producers on the market.

NAR and M-LOK system
The weapon has both a NAR and M-LOK system for the positioning of lights, lasers, optics, brass catchers and handgrips. The NAR’s located are on the 12 and 6 o’clock positions while the M-LOK systems are on the lateral position. The SPC9 comes with a single M-LOK rail but others can be ordered.

On request, B&T offers authorities the possibilities of further magazine options.

The lower
The lower is another unique feature which has its genesis from the B&T APC9. This is the same weapon that was awarded the US Army contract for the next generation Sub Compact Weapon (SCW). It accepts the well-known and very reliable B&T polymer magazines. The lower can also be ordered or switched out to another configuration that will accept either Glock or SIG 320 (or US M17/M19) magazines. The Glock design is so that it will accept the smallest Glock double stock magazine, as found with the Glock 26.

The optic
The SPC9 pairs well with an Aimpoint T-Series optic on a 39mm riser and mount. This optic choice is virtually indestructible and will provide the operator with many years of hard service. The illumination system is designed so that the commonly found battery requires changing only every five years of normal service. The included Flip-up Iron-sights do co-witness with the mounted Aimpoint.

Feature highlights
The weapon incorporates some rather unique features. Not found on other platforms and cannot see from the outside. These are:

Barrel construction – The barrel is a cold hammer forged barrel that produces outstanding accuracy. When the first series of weapons were tested for accuracy, all weapons from the series were able to produce groups within 50mm at 30 meters with match grade 9mm ammo.
European Safety system – The trigger system is the “European” trigger system in which the weapon can be placed on safe with the hammer forward and during the manipulation process. This is much safer than the classic AR system which the safety cannot be engaged unless the hammer is rearward. On safe, all the time is always a good policy.
The trigger system – is a two-stage system that as opposed to the more common single stage system.
The recoil is greatly reduced because of the unique hydraulic buffer system. This system will reduce the felt recoil big time. This hydraulic buffer system is pioneered by B&T on SMG or PCC platforms.
Finally, the SPC9 falls within the EU Compliant category. The overall minimum length is 626mm which is greater than the 600mm length. The gun can also be delivered with 10-rnd magazine that falls within the Firearms Directive, (EU) 2017/853 published on 17 May 2017.
The SPC9 is produced only in the semi-automatic version. Select-fire version is not available.
